Products -- Algimycin®-PWF

|
|
Applied Biochemists (AB) is excited to announce the registration of Algimycin-PWF® in the state of California. Algimycin-PWF® is an algaecide/cyanobacteriocide, in the form of copper citrate and copper gluconate chelates.
The Algimycin-PWF® EPA label allows use in Lakes, Ponds, Drinking Water Reservoirs, and irrigation canals, plus it has NSF certification for use in drinking water. Targeted pests specified on the label are Green and Blue-Green Algae. Dosage rates range from .32 to 5.31 gallons per acre-foot.
Water treated with Algimycin PWF does not cause increased chlorine demand, which is often a concern with the use of organic chelated copper algaecides in water treatment facilities . |

| Algimycin®-PWF is
manufactured for Applied Biochemists. |
| WHAT IS ALGIMYCIN®-PWF?
ALGIMYCIN®-PWF is an algaecide which controls existing
algae and cyanobacteria, and inhibits rapid
re-infestation. |
BASIC
FACTS: ALGIMYCIN®-PWF
- Is a liquid
formulation which contains 5.0% active
ingredient.
- Contains 0.512 pounds of copper per
gallon.
- Has a specific gravity of 1.2 (10 lbs. per
gallon).
- Controls algae at 0.06 to 0.5 ppm
copper.
- Controls all three forms of algae:
planktonic, filamentous and chara.
|
ADVANTAGES:- ALGIMYCIN®-PWF is
U.S.E.P.A. registered for use in drinking water
reservoirs, ponds, lakes, irrigation water conveyance
systems such as canals, laterals and ditches.
ALGIMYCIN®-PWF is certified ANSI-NSF
60.
- ALGIMYCIN®-PWF treated water can be used for
swimming, domestic uses and livestock watering
immediately after chemical application.
- Water from
treated lakes, ponds, irrigation systems and golf course
water hazards may be used to irrigate turf, fairways,
putting greens and ornamental plants.
- Fish can be
caught and consumed immediately after ALGIMYCIN®-PWF
application.
- ALGIMYCIN®-PWF will not plate-out or
precipitate under normal storage conditions nor does the
copper in ALGIMYCIN®-PWF precipitate out and become
ineffective in alkaline or hard water.
- ALGIMYCIN®-PWF
can be applied to flowing water using a continuous
delivery drip system.
|
APPLICATION
RATE: ALGIMYCIN®-PWF- is applied at a rate of
0.32 to 2.66 gallons per acre-foot (43,560 cubic feet)
of water to be treated for planktonic and filamentous
algae, and 2.3 - 3.19 gallons per acre-foot for Chara
and Nitella.
|
METHOD OF
APPLICATION: ALGIMYCIN®-PWF should be diluted
with at least 9 parts of water to facilitate even
distribution during application. Surface spray is most
practical for treatment of planktonic and filamentous
algae. Bottom-growing algae should be treated by
underwater injection or by application of CUTRINE®-PLUS
GRANULAR.
|
CONTAINER
SIZES: ALGIMYCIN®-PWF is available in 5 gallon, 30 gallon,
55 gallon and 275 gallon containers.
|
NOTE:
ALGIMYCIN®-PWF need sunlight
to optimize effectiveness. ALGIMYCIN®-PWF is not
completely effective against Pithophora and
diatoms. ALGIMYCIN®-PWF can be toxic to trout, at the
recommended application rates, if the water has less
than 50 ppm of carbonate hardness (soft water). Do not
use in waters containing Koi and hybrid goldfish. Not
intended for use in small volume, garden pond
systems. AB/SW 08/03
