Plant Identification  --  Emergent Weeds  --  Creeping Water Primrose

CREEPING WATER PRIMROSE (Jussiaea repens)- Figure A

Treatment Tips: Both plants can live on mud flats and moist soils,so care should be taken to treat these areas.

Description: Plant is generally found in shallow water growing horizontallynear the surface. Stem is hollow, red-colored and has numerous leaves. Abright yellow flower distinguishes it from Smartweed.

Distribution: Numerous species found throughout the United States.

Recommended Control Method: Mix 1 ounce of 2, 4-D liquid (see label) in 1 gallon of water. Spray directly on plant. Approximately 75 gallons of this solution will be needed to treat 1 acre of plants.
OR
Apply Navigate evenly at the rate of 150 pounds per acre of plants.
Alternate Control Methods: Reward: 1.3 ounces per gallon of water plus non-ionic surfactant.
Shore-Klear: 1 ounce per gallon of water plus non-ionic surfactant.
Weedtrine-D: 6.5 ounces per gallon of water plus non-ionic surfactant. 100 gallons of the above solution(s) will treat 1 acre of plants.
