A Proud History
In the past 50+ years we have grown from a single product, privately owned company to a world leader in
chelated copper and algae control technology.
Quality Products and Name Brand Recognition
We began with the first chelated copper algaecide over 50 years ago which was trademarked "Cutrine".
This product was reformulated and improved significantly enough to earn new patents and the new name,
"Cutrine-Plus". This name is now virtually synonymous with the generic term, chelated copper algaecide.
The product line has expanded, and most recently, the development of Applied Biochemists' latest product,
Clearigate, has given the aquatic and agricultural industry a new and extremely effective tool in safely
managing irrigation systems as well as other bodies of water where irrigation restrictions are of a concern.
Professional Sales Support and Qualified Technical Assistance
Responsibilities for our product line is being managed by an experienced team of dedicated individuals
including degreed biologists, chemists, and other science professionals. This group devotes their full
attention to this product line, and both field assistance and home office support are provided. Their
hands-on experience in product application to ponds, reservoirs, aquascapes, irrigation waters, drainage
systems, aquaculture facilities and other use sites is readily shared.
Accomplishments
As recognized experts, Applied Biochemists' staff have compiled an impressive list of accomplishments in
their field. They have written programs on aquatic chemical application, published articles in national and
international trade magazines, acted as international consultants on aquatic vegetation problems, given
presentations at seminars and professional meetings, and served on Citizens' Advisory Committees reviewing
legislation concerning aquatic plant management.
